Michael D. Kresh is an acclaimed Certified Financial Advisor, author, speaker and nationally recognized expert in the area of retirement planning.

Michael sits on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Financial Planning and was an invited speaker at the 2003 Society of Financial Services Professionals National Conference. For six consecutive years, Wealth Manager Magazine named him to their list of Top Wealth Managers according to such criteria as average individual account size and overall growth in assets under management.  In addition, qualifying firms have to be independently owned and operated, offering comprehensive planning services in house.

In 1999 he received the prestigious Dalbar Financial Professional Seal, awarded to an elite group of planners who placed highest in client trust, service, and investment performance according to Dalbar’s extensive national research. For 2006 and 2007 the Consumers’ Research Council of America named Michael as one of America’s Best Financial Planners.   

Nationally known in the area of retirement and investment planning services, Michael Kresh has been a regular guest on CNBC’s Power Lunch from 1998 through 2005 and is frequently quoted in CNBC.com, FOX Business News.com, Newsday, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Daily News, Mutual Funds magazine, Business Week, Worth, Kiplinger’s magazineand Fortune.  In addition to CNBC’s Power Lunch, he has appeared on MSNBC, Bloomberg TV, NBC’s Nightly News Weekend Edition, CBS Evening News and the Today Show.

Michael is the author of You Can Afford to Retire and his audio presentation, Asset Allocation Explained (Marketplace Books and FPBooks) continues to be a top seller for financial professionals since its release in 2003.  

Michael has a deep appreciation of community and service.  He was an active leader of the South Nassau Hospital’s Volunteer Project with the Red Cross, serving victims of the September 11 attacks.  He is the elected President of the Long Island Chapter of the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®-LI, which serves nearly 600 members in our financial planning community.

As an educator, Michael has been an Adjunct Professor at C.W. Post, teaching the Retirement Section of the Certified Financial Planning certification course.  He has also been an Adjunct Professor at Adelphi University, where he taught the retirement section of the Paralegal Certification course.

In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner®, Michael also holds a Chartered Life Underwriter designation.
